pH, ORP and temperature functions
BPI now has the PH-013M high accuracy portable pH / ORP (oxidation – reduction potential) meter / thermometer. Its measuring ranges are pH: 0.00 to 14.00pH ; ORP mV: 0 to ±1999mV ; temp: 0 to 100 C . Its accuracy is pH: 0.01pH ; mV: ±0.1% (±1 digit) ; temp: < ±0.5 C and resolution: 0.01pH; 1mV; 0.1 C. It uses a 4-digit LCD display ; has an input resistance: > 1.E12 ohms. Its dimensions are 120mm(L) × 80mm(W) × 35mm(H) and weight: 360g. The pH function warns if your tint tank is becoming too caustic (pH greater than 8) – which can degrade some hardcoatings. BPI Stabilizer may be added to the tint tank to reduce its pH to a safe level. The ORP function tells you the condition of the water that you are using to refill the tinting tanks. Tap water has an oxidative value (due to chlorine) typically around +300 to +700 mV. As that value changes, expect to see color shifts (unless you compensate for the change!). Good distilled water will have a reading near 0 mV, while deionized water will typically range from +200 to – 700 mV. Again, to prevent color shifts, the values need to remain reasonably constant. We have always emphasized the need to carefully monitor the tinting tank’s temperature and this meter also includes a precision thermometer which is useful at normal tinting temperatures

Determine pH accurately
BPI now has the PH-900-III high accuracy pen type pH meter with temperature display. The measuring range in pH is 0.00 to 14.00pH with a measuring error: ±0.1pH and a display resolution of 0.01pH. The temperature measurement range is –5 C to +50 C. Power supply: DC 4×1.5V(SR44) 1000hrs Temperature compensation : 0-50 C The pH function warns if your tint tank is becoming too caustic (pH greater than 8) – which can degrade some hardcoatings. BPI Stabilizer may be added to the tint tank to reduce its pH to a safe level.

MEASURE YOUR TINTING TEMPERATURE
PC: 62905 |
Use for your chemical tempering oven
BPI now has the DT-530 hand held, laser directed infrared thermometer. This unit can measure temperatures from -20 C to +530 C ( -4 F to +986 F) remotely, without disturbing your chemical tempering tank. It is also a good general purpose remote reading lab thermometer. The temperature accuracy is +/- 2 C. The thermometer is powered by a 9V alkaline battery. |
BPI now has the BT-01 pen style digital thermometer with stainless steel sensing tips, direct measuring, portability and a wide measuring range. It can be quickly dipped into tinting tanks to verify tinting temperatures – tinting temperature errors being the most common cause of color shifts in tints. The technical parameters include a measuring range of –50 C to +300 C (-58 F to +572 F) with the ability to distinguish 0.1 C/F. Its accuracy is ±1 C(-20 C ~+80 C), with ±5 C (other ranges). It is powered by a 1.5V AG13 button battery. The overall dimensions are 20.5 × 206mm with a screen size: 21×8 mm . |
